Haverstick assists surgical instrument manufacturer in the repair and development of Docent course modules and reports
The Client The client is recognized as a world leader in the manufacture of surgical instruments used for minimally invasive surgery. They work with surgeons around the world in developing products and refining products as well as procedures that make a difference to the surgical patient.
The Challenge The client had developed a curriculum to support its sales force. Upon completion of each section of the curriculum, students completed Reaction (Level I) and/or Knowledge (Level II) assessments. However, students and managers were unable to view valid results from the completed assessments.
The Haverstick Approach Haverstick worked with the client to understand its learning goals and strategies. We then evaluated the Docent modules in three areas: application code, communication between components, and user interface. Through this discovery phase, Haverstick found the source of the issues and presented Ethicon Endo Surgery with options for correction of the problems.
Haverstick’s learning services team revised the assessment modules so that correct data was recorded in the LMS. During this process, we assisted the client in restructuring its module development process, to allow for less opportunity for corrupt data to be recorded. Haverstick also developed a new set of Docent-based reports that provided managers and students the information they needed to succeed in their respective roles.
The Result The client can better mentor its sales force, as it better understands their training needs. |
